Invited to the Chanel fashion show, Ines de la Fressange appeared in corduroy trousers. We are inspired by her look to adopt the autumn trend.

This Tuesday, October 4, the French fashion house Chanel opened the ball for this last day of Fashion Week and presented its collection for spring-summer 2023 at the Grand Palais Éphémère. Many personalities and friends of the brand met to watch the show, whose decor this time was inspired by Alain Resnais’ film, “Last Year in Marienbad”. Among the stars present: Kristen Stewart, Charlotte Casiraghi, Diane Kruger, Naomi Campbell, Lyna Khoudri, Stromae and her partner Coralie Barbier, and, as always, Ines de la Fressange. For the occasion, the Parisian editor and stylist did not deviate from her iconic chic and relaxed style, and she bet on a simple and trendy outfit, including corduroy trousers.

How to wear corduroy pants like Ines de la Fressange

Ines de la Fressange has in fact chosen to wear the trendiest fabric of autumn, corduroy, over low-waisted bootcut pants in burgundy. To accompany this strong garment, the designer has opted for black pieces, which come to calm things down: a V-neck sweater in fine knit, a long velvet jacket embroidered with small pearls, leather ankle boots with a varnished medium heel and also a satin mini-bag with crystal buckle. Result: a chic and casual ribbed trousers outfit, to be worn both day and night!

Corduroy trousers, the trend of autumn

Long-outdated corduroy pants slowly began to take revenge in Fall-Winter 2021 to be totally on-trend this Fall-Winter 2022. Now they rival traditional jeans and infuse a meaningful fashion twist into an outfit in this season. To always be in trend with this material that is not always easy to adopt, we still choose cuts and colors in step with the times. We therefore prefer wide models, bordering on baggy cuts, bootcuts or even models such as trouser clips. As for the color palette, we follow the trends of the moment by daring corduroy trousers in fuchsia pink, khaki or even chocolate, but we can obviously turn to more classic colors such as black or cream. To avoid the slightest fashion faux pas, pair our corduroy garment with a chunky cable sweater or slightly oversized shirt, leather trench coat or long minimalist coat. The more adventurous can also dare to wear a corduroy suit, over pants and a matching blazer jacket for a gritty outfit!
