While Diablo II: Resurrected has rekindled the flame of nostalgia among early fans, Activision-Blizzard has just begun hostilities for Ranked Season 2. Players looking for tough challenges and high-value rewards will be thrilled.
Go fight in the areas of terror
Let’s waste no time and start with some good news for new players who are entering Diablo II: Resurrected and its ranked seasons for the first time. Will season 1 leave traces of his passage? Shall we start from scratch? To be honest, that’s a bit of a yes and a no.
To be clear, all characters on the leaderboard are now carried over to their respective standard group. All shared chest items for this character group are placed in the new “remove only” set of shared chest cards, marked with a “passed” checkbox. How much time do you have to remove and store them? All season 2!
Choose wisely, as the content of this set of cards will be replaced with content from the Season 2 shared chest, so remember to remove any items you care about before that happens. Otherwise, all uncollected items will be permanently lost.
Now let’s talk about the different events that await you during this season 2. License regulars know it: getting level 99 is like a holy grail that you have to be ready to sweat for if you want to get it. If the path to this highly symbolic level has been made more accessible by the developer, players will still have to have the courage to go to the Terror Zones.
These disturbing places, imagined by the studio, have the particularity of being activated every hour through diabolical tremors imbued with the corruption of the Lord of Destruction, the latter spreading to specific areas.
These areas will also have the effect of strengthening the monsters within them, which will always be two levels higher than you … at a minimum. Even the base level of creatures may be affected, however, a maximum level will be defined based on the difficulty level you have chosen. The loot recovered during your battles will be proportional to this level increase.
Important clarification, the Zones of Terror will only be unlocked after defeating Baal, with each character (who has access to the extension) and in each desired difficulty level. This feature will be automatically unlocked for characters who have already met these requirements.
Aware of the limits imposed by the difficulty “Hell” and in particular in the Terror Zone, the developer wanted to add six Broken Charms that will have the ability to break the immunities of monsters. These unique new charms that will need to be kept in your inventory to function can only be obtained from Dread Zone monsters of champion, unique, super unique, or boss rank.
Finally, Activision Blizzard worked to fix several bugs during the implementation of the now available 2.5 patch. Diablo II: Resurrected awaits you on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
