📰 hydrogen peroxide to increase sports performance?

To the “hydrogen peroxide” vendors, their product boosts the performance of athletes. But there is actually no data to support this.

The origin of the voice

Oxygen is the third most abundant element in theUniverse (The Universe is the sum of all that exists and the laws that govern it.)after’hydrogen (Hydrogen is a chemical element with symbol H and atomic number 1.) and thehelium (Helium is a noble gas or rare gas, practically inert. With atomic number 2, it…). The molecule (A molecule is an electrically neutral chemical assembly of at least two atoms, which…) fromoxygen (Oxygen is a chemical element of the chalcogen family, of…) which represents about 20% of our air (Air is the mixture of gases that make up the earth’s atmosphere. It is odorless and…) it’s here combination (A combination can be:) of two oxygen atoms, hence its symbol O2.

With each breathing (In everyday language, breathing designates both the exchange of gases (rejection…)we breathe in oxygen, which then fills our lungs and disperses into ours blood (Blood is a liquid connective tissue made up of free cell populations, including the…). Our cells to serve (Server is a contraction of the words server and client.) to producepower (In the common sense, energy designates everything that allows you to do work, produce energy, etc.) (more precisely, to transform the glucose (Glucose is an aldohexose, the main representative of oses (sugars). By convention, it is…) in energy). It’s at this point (graphics) essential that, without oxygen supply, our brain (The brain is the main organ of the central nervous system of animals. The brain processes…) takes permanent damage after only four minutes. It is from this awareness that the theory (The word theory comes from the Greek word theorein, which means “to contemplate, observe,…) that more oxygen could definitely increase the performance of thetogether (In set theory, a set intuitively designates a collection…) of our body. And this is why sellers “ofwater (Water is a chemical compound ubiquitous on Earth, essential for everyone…) oxygen” target athletes.

oxygen in the water

The water we drink is not just made up of two hydrogen atoms and one atom (An atom (from the Greek ατομος, atomos, “that cannot be…) of oxygen (h2OR). It also contains oxygen which, coming from the air, dissolves in it. In this meaning (SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) is a scientific project that aims to…)it could be said that all water is hydrogen peroxide, albeit at a very low rate: a maximum of 25 milliliters per liter (The liter (from the Greek λίτρα lítra, ancient measure of capacity…) of water. It is however sufficient for the Fish (Pisces is a constellation of the zodiac crossed by the Sun from 12 to 18 March…) extract oxygen through the gills.

The technology (The word technology has two de facto meanings:) allows more oxygen to enter a bottle of water – just put more pressure (Pressure is a fundamental physics notion. You can think of it as a force reported…), and that’s what the sellers of “hydrogen peroxide” do. The problem is that most of this oxygen escapes as soon as you open the bottle.

What remains of this dissolved oxygen has no consequences for our body, because we do not breathe through our own intestine (The intestine is the part of the digestive system that extends from the stomach outlet to…). Only one trace (TRACE is a NASA space telescope designed to study the connection between…) of this tiny Quantity (Quantity is a generic term of metrology (count, amount); a scalar,…) of oxygen in the water will pass through the intestines to enter the blood circulation (Blood circulation is a type of closed-loop circulatory system that ensures…)which in any case is already saturated with oxygen.

The important thing is to remember that a simple breath of air contains more oxygen than a liter of hydrogen peroxide. This puff represents about 500 mL of air, of which about 20%, or 100 mL, is oxygen. Samples of a variety of hydrogen peroxide show up mean (The mean is a statistical measure that characterizes the elements of a set of…) the presence of 10 ml of oxygen per 100 ml of water. Conclusion: although everything (The whole understood as everything that exists is often interpreted as the world or…) the oxygen from the bottle has been absorbed, it would be less oxygen than if we took one more breath!

Furthermore, studies clearly show that consuming hydrogen peroxide has no effect on performance. Participants engaged in rigorous tests of standardized cardiopulmonary exercise saw no significant difference in their results, whether they drank plain water or hydrogen peroxide. And when asked to identify the type of water they were blindly served, they were unable to say.

A small literature review, in 2006, was clear: “Hydrogen peroxide fails both quantitative analyzes and practical physiological performance tests physicist (Physics (from the Greek φυσις, nature) is etymologically the…) and recovery. Only small amounts of O2 can be dissolved in drinking water, compared to what is required for a physical exercise (Physical exercise is physical activity practiced in principle…).”

Furthermore, some of the claims by supporters are completely (Completion or fully automatic, or by anglicism completion or…) false, such as that the oxygen in the air is decreasing due to the pollution (Pollution is defined as what makes an environment unhealthy. The definition varies according to…). And others are, to say the least, strange:
– “Oxygen is stabilized in microencapsulated water masses.”
– “Our patented method for expanding and contracting water molecules a frequency (In physics, frequency generally refers to measuring the number of times a…) several times for minute (Primary form of a document: Law: a minute is the original of a…) allows for increased oxygen consumption and uptake of donated electrons.”
– “We use monatomic oxygen and other beneficial forms of oxygen: O2or4or5or6 and O7which is less than half of diameter (In a circle or sphere, the diameter is a line segment through the center…) regular diatomic oxygen.”

An early version of this article, by Joe Schwarcz, appeared on the site of the Organization for science (Science (Latin scientia, “knowledge”) is, according to the dictionary…) and the company ofMcGill University (McGill University, located in Montreal, Quebec, is one of…).
